Endtime Prophets

A critique of the False Prophecy of Dr. Jonathan Hansen's
"Warning to the People of America"

The following analysis of Dr. Jonathan Hansen's prophecy called, "Warning to the People of America." examines his belief that Christ is coming for a church without spot or wrinkle; that anyone who studies scripture for himself is an "self-educated fool"

He also claims that America's religious leaders, political leaders, relatives and neighbors are all vain and corrupt; that all denominations are evil; and how the American "born again Christian" will be chastened by the Lord and tried by the fire. It is claimed that his prophecies are 100% accurate. Let's see if that is true.

The original article was found here but is no longer online: www.world-ministries.org/america/america.html, however, it can be found on archive.org.

Warning to the people of America

Hello Lori, I just wanted you to know that I read your article about Dr. Jonathon Hansen, and I really appreciate finding someone who is upset about him, like me.

I went to a prophecy conference with Rick Wiles or Larry Bates around 2000. I heard Jonathon Hanson and I heard him saying those very words: “God is looking for a church without spot or wrinkle” and I was a new Christian at the time, but I very distinctly remember knowing that we are a church without spot or wrinkle because of the blood of Jesus!

And even though I was a new Christian, I wanted to stand up and call him a heretic and say a couple choice words, but I wasn’t confident enough in my faith to have everyone tell me to leave.

I want you to know that this man shook my faith to the core, and it screwed me up in my Christian walk for a good number of years. Since then, I’ve realized that Rick wiles is not very good, and Larry Bates is in jail for Fraud.

I never went to a Christian conference after that, as it has tainted me. The whole experience has creeped me out to this day, and I just really appreciate your article about this. I am very strong in my faith now, and would never would put up with his shenanigans now!

Your sister in Christ! S.H.

I will shake you with a shake that has never shaken you before.
You are fast losing the salt;
But I will bring you down.
You will not escape my wrath;

Since when does a gentile nation have salt, which is a cleansing ingredient attributed to Christians? Also, please notice there are no details with the above prophecies. Dr. Hansen doesn't say When, Where or How America will be brought down.

If you read any of the prophecies in the Bible they are full of details so that when they happen the people can say, without doubt: "God said it and it happened exactly like he said it would."

All those who do not love their neighbor will be removed when my eternal wrath falls.

Does this include Christians as well as non-believers??? Does this include Christians who have a problem expressing Christian charity, i.e., forgiveness. Does this mean that all Christians who have a problem with forgiveness are not saved? No. Because if it did we would all be doomed for one infraction of unforgiveness or another. Therefore this statement is not scriptural.

My elect are not the people, the church in America, but my elect are the people of the world that are called by my name and do my will on earth as it is done in heaven.

This is something that I'm noticing a lot from these "prophets" that speak out against America, they say the elect are not the church. If the elect isn't the Church (the True Church) then who is the elect??? They confuse the Church with America. The true Church is made up of people from all over the globe including America so this statement isn't true either.

For you are a thankless, godless, amoral generation that has been raised by the philosophies of the heathen and I will challenge your philosophies till you hate me and my people. My people will not escape your wrath; the wrath of the world as some falsely teach, for only the worlds wrath will open their eyes clearly to what I am saying so they are prepared to meet me.

Here Dr. Hanson seems to be saying that "My People" which must be the "elect" will be subject to the world's (Satan's) wrath and only then will their eyes be open so they will be prepared to meet God.

According to scripture we only need to believe in the blood Jesus spilled on our behalf to be prepared to meed God and declared righteous--and even THAT (belief) is a gift from God (Eph. 2: 8,9) so that no man may boast of his works leading to his salvation. And scripture also says the true Church will not endure the Great Tribulation (Rev. 3:10). So that statement isn't scriptural either.

I am coming quickly for a people, a church without spot or wrinkle.

Where does scripture say that we will be without spot or wrinkle on this side of heaven? This is not true. We are "Declared" righteous ONLY because of Christ's blood that covers us when God looks on us--not because of any works we have done here on earth.

A blood washed, blood soaked people who are really called Christian, not the hypocritical, self-righteous, self-taught, self-educated fool who propitiates his own dogma today.

Look at this hateful statement--denegrating anyone who studies the bible by themselves. Is this what Scripture tells us? No. "Study to show thyself approved . . ." (2 Timmothy 2:15) We have the Holy Spirit to guide us into truth individually.

Also, Hansen has just condemned himself according to his prophecy up above where he said anyone who hates his neighboor is doomed and also because of the following:

"And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those that oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, . . ." (2 Timothy 2:24)

Actually what we have here is the usual mind control techniques used by cult leaders to keep their "flock" ignorant, to tell the people they can't understand scripture unless it is explained to them by someone holier than they.

Instead of my church being one, you have become institutionalized where my true servants are not even welcomed because your protecting your own man-made philosophies and your own selfish interests. You think the people are yours, but I tell you they are mine and your man-made denominational institutions will fail for I am shaking and calling the very elect to follow me, not you.

As you read the above, consider that if Dr. Hansen is Not a true prophet of God, then this message is really coming from God's enemy, and then you will get the full import of what is realllllllly being said here re the people being "his."

By this statement we can also see that Hansen is anti-denominational as well as hating the teachers in those churches, i.e., any and all denominations are evil which is not true. He is saying the elect are to come out of all denominations.

Awake, awake, oh Jerusalem. For the King of glory is about to appear. And only the true elect, the glorified elect, will live in that new Jerusalem that I am preparing.

Now he has called those in the "church" and in denominations (which are supposedly evil), as well as all Americans, he is calling them Jerusalem. Here we go, once again, switching scriptures meant for Israel and applying it to the Church, i.e., Replacement Theology.

Just about every "prophet" critiqued in this site has the same basic flaw in their theology--they don't understand God's plan for Israel vs. the Church.

America, your religious leaders are vain and corrupt; your Church Leaders are vain and corrupt; your Political leaders are vain and corrupt; your relatives are vain and corrupt; your neighbors are vain and corrupt.

Look at the erroneous generalizations above. Are all religious leaders, political leaders, relatives and neighboors vain and corrupt? No. This is not true. If it were it would include everyone in America including himself because he is also a relative and a religious leader and a neighboor of someone.

On December 24, 1995 at 0541 hours, Rev. Jonathan Hansen received this prophecy primarily for the people who call themselves "born again." The Lord is saying that He will exhort the American people to look to Him. He will cause an incident to happen in America so great so as to get their attention. This could possibly be through the weather, food, disease, economy (although it would have to be a much greater degree than we have yet experienced), etc., or nuclear war at a National level.

For sure we have had enormous weather changes since 1995, but nothing that has brought America to it's knees and we haven't had a nuclear war either. Please notice there was no fulfillment date given for the above prophecy--just an "incident" that will "get their attention." Also he said it would "possibly" be through the "weather, food, disease, economy." This is not a prophecy from God. God doesn't give out probable prophecies. He is a God of details.

So the people of America turn to the lies of the cult and occult, because a true servant of the Lord is not popular even within his own denomination.

Here we see the anti-denomination rhetoric again. I would be interested to find out if John Hansen has ever been thrown out of a denominational church, and if so, and why. Is this why he hates the traditional Church? And if so why hasn't he forgiven them? Up above he indicated all who would not "love their neightboor," i.e., forgive others, is doomed. He has just condemned himself, again.

They dance to the fiddle of the majority who are intrigued by the psychic's predictions but are deaf to the words and warnings of a true prophet.

Now he is apparently claiming to be a true prophet but according to the statements he has made above and the non-prophetic prophecies he has uttered so far I do not see any evidence of a prophet of God here.

God is saying that He will bring down (humble, shame) the American people: including many church leaders. Many people in America and members of churches feel immune from the catastrophes that have struck other countries such as war, famine, disease, persecution, etc. But God is warning that the people, both in society and the church, will not escape His dealings with them.

There are hard times ahead for both the Church and people of America. Great trouble, plagues and persecution lie ahead. This is needed out of God's deep eternal love to give every opportunity for people to repent and prepare themselves for the coming of the Lord.

Please notice there is nothing specific about this warning--nothing you can point to in the news and say, "yes, this was fulfilled" because Christians have been promised to have, trouble, plagues and persecution.

There is also no date for the fulfillment of this prophecy and now it's been about 25 years and still nothing drastic has happened to "bring down the American people." We have had lots of troubles lately but is America blaming it on God? No and that is the last thing they would acknowledge--it's "El Nino's fault, or global warming's fault." What Hansen is prophecying is a little bit of truth mixed in with a threat, and from what we have seen so far there is no evidence that this threat is from God.

The majority of the Church in America lacks holiness and righteousness. God must and will prepare them for His return.

Here we go again with the Church having to get ready before Christ returns. Where does scripture say this? Christ is coming to judge an unrepentant Christ rejecting world, not to punish his Bride.

For He will not allow His new Jerusalem to be polluted, corrupt, diseased, poverty stricken, ruled by the vain, immoral or amoral again.

NO ONE will enter Jerusalem who is not pure (Rev. 21:7, 27), but this also means that no earthly, mortal, person will enter it either because New Jerusalem is inhabited only by immortals. Therefore the people who he is talking to can't gain access to New Jerusalem even if they do try to be holy. This is another untruth and a false promise.

Before His final judgment when people are sentenced to eternal separation or eternal life with Him in the new Jerusalem, Jesus will give more opportunity for a change of heart. The American "born again Christian" will be chastened by the Lord and tried by the fire.

Why only the American "born again Christian"? Don't those living in other countries need to repent also? And wasn't the "born again" experience enough? Why does one who is "truly" born again need to be tried by fire? Wasn't Christ's death enough? This is REALLY what he is saying--that Christ's death is insufficient for our salvation. And this is a false Gospel of works (see John 3:16-18).

Wrong doctrine taught by denominations and pastors will be exposed by time itself, by the Holy Spirit, by the Scriptures that will finally be studied studiously by the elect instead of just accepted from the pulpit.

Dr. Jonathan Hansen told us up above that self study is condemned when he calls such people "self-taught, self-educated fool[s]." So are we supposed to study or not? John Hansen is also saying that the Church has been lied to for 2,000 years and only these endtime prophets have the REAL truth--and he is supposedly one of them. That is what he is really saying. However, what did Paul tell Timothy about "new and improved" teachings?

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become confinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (2 Timothy 3:14, 15).

Please notice that Paul says by studying scripture we can be made wise. This is totally opposite of what Dr. Jonathan Hansen told us above when he condemned self-study. Does this sound confusing to you? Is God the author of confusion?

Great trouble will fall on America along with a major Crisis that will change the American lifestyle.

Notice that, again no details and no date were given. A totally ambiguous "prophecy."

He warns that the born again believer will also be challenged by the Lord through the change of events in American lifestyle, calamities and persecution. But through it all the true Church will become holy without spot or wrinkle and learn to trust in Jesus. Amen and amen!

Not on this side of heaven they won't "become holy without spot or wrinkle." We will sin and we will continue to sin until the day we die, but praise the Lord that sin has already been paid with Jesus' blood on the cross on our behalf.

This prophecy was recorded on December 24, 1995 and conveyed to church leaders at that time.

The Lord's Servant
Rev. Jonathan Hansen
P.O. Box 8650
Kirkland, WA 98034, USA

All Scriptures are quoted from the King James Version, unless otherwise noted.

I don't recall seeing Dr. Jonathan Hansen quoting one single scripture from the KJV, or anywhere else, for that matter. This doesn't seem to qualify him for the title of "Dr." of theology or anything else.

Lori's advice re this "prophet": Dr. Jonathan Hansen is not only preaching Replacement Theology, but also Kingdom Now theology as well--none of which has a scriptural basis. Ignore him. He doesn't preach the truth from scripture and he has given no true prophecy and in fact he is teaching another gospel — one of works.
