The False Anointed Teaching Coming from Cal Pierce
and Spokane's Healing Rooms

The following is a critique of an announcement by Cal Pierce, Director of the Healing Rooms Ministries of Spokane (www.healingrooms.com) which was posted in the Spokane Healing Rooms Archive called "Rivermail", on July 27, 1999 shortly after they opened for "business."

This analysis will attempt to show that Cal Pierce's Healing Rooms are not anointed by God, are not scriptural and instead are false anointings claimed by men instead.

(False teacher/prophet quotes are in purple and indented, my
comments are in plain text and scripture is in teal. False teachers rarely use scripture. I have only included those portions I intend to comment on.)

Healing Rooms Ministries of Spokane Update: Well we opened the healings rooms on July 22nd. in the same location that they were in 74 years ago under the ministry of John G. Lake.

This whole Healing Room Ministry in Spokane is founded on John G. Lake so it is important to understand who Lake really was. If he was a true prophet of God and a godly teacher then it would be supposed that this healing ministry would have God's blessing. But it that the case?

Quite the opposite is true. John G. Lake's "ministry" consisted of promoting New Age Eastern philosophies such as nechromancy, out of body experiences, mind control and that we can all become god. He claimed to not accept money from his followers yet was sued for using their tithes to buy his own stock.

He was not only a false teacher but was also proven to produce false healings via mind manipulation. John G. Lake claimed that sin was the cause of sickness and anyone who went to a doctor was a heathen and yet he suffered from colds, nervous breakdowns and strokes and even died from a stroke. Does this sound like a true godly healer?

For more information on John G. Lake and his occultic background check out Apologist Greg DesVoignes' extensive research on John G. Lake in his article called, The Revival of John G. Lake's Ministry Healing Rooms

Here are quotes from Lake via DesVoignes research that proves Lake is leading people to another god:

"It is not honoring to Jesus Christ that sickness should possess us. We do not want disease. We want to be gods. Jesus said, 'I said ye are gods' (John 10:34). It is with the attitude of gods in the world that Jesus wants the Christian to live." (John G. Lake: His Life His Sermons, His Boldness of Faith, Kenneth Copeland Publications, 1995, pg 13).

"The power of God, the Holy Ghost, is the Spirit of Dominion. It makes one a god." (ibid., pg 13)

"I want you to hear what Jesus said about himself. God was in Christ, wasn't He? An incarnation. God is in you, an incarnation, if you were born again. You are incarnate." (ibid pg 196).

"For God's purpose through Jesus Christ is to deify the nature of men and thus forever make them like unto, ... Thus he becomes the Son of god, a Savior and redeemer forever." (Ibid., pg 304).

Continuing with the critique of the Rivermail announcement:

We have people coming as far away as Portland to be prayed for in the Healing Rooms. There are request for prayer cloths as far away as England.

Just because the Apostle Paul sent out ONE prayer cloth and people were healed does not mean that this was to become a normal practice for the Church. It only occurred once in the NT and there is not one mention that we are to do the same.

For a very good article exposing the heretical practice of sending out prayer cloths check out My Three Prayer Cloths, NOW FIVE PRAYER CLOTHS! No More than TWELVE Prayer CLOTHS. Hold the Presses - make that My FOURTEEN Prayer CLOTHS! by Rev. Robert S. Liichow of Discernment.org. (this article is no longer available online).

What we are seeing now is that the person who sends the prayer cloth is seen as THE healer, not God. But then, why do we need God if we have a prophet who can heal us. In fact, as Greg DesVoignes points out in the article mentioned above why do we even need a prophet if we are gods ourselves?

The sick are coming from all denominations, backgrounds and with every kind of infirmity.

People may be coming in droves but are they really being healed? Where is the documentation that proves these healings are really happening? And where is the proof that these healings are truly physical and not just psychological or the result of mind control and suggestion?

How many times do these people have to come to receive healing? How many times do they return before they are encouraged/coerced/or convinced that they should tithe to this organization?

See DesVoignes article above on how John G. Lake manipulated money out of folks before he "healed" them and how some of the people that received John G. Lake's "healings" had to return up to 30 times. How many times did people come to Jesus to be healed? Did he charge them for their healing in any way?

There is such an anointing in the Healing Rooms that people are falling under the power of the Holy Spirit even before we can finish praying.

According to the Bible EVERY believer is anointed:

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come... But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth...

See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us--even eternal life. I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray.

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him. And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. (1 Jn 2:18-28 )

Please note that the above scripture indicates there is not only a real anointing but also a false one. There is only one true anointed One however, i.e., Christ. A true anointed teaching will align with the Word of God. A false anointed teaching will align with the Word of Satan, i.e., we can all become god (see Genesis 3:5).

And merely falling in the presence of some person/entity is not proof that it's from God either. Jesus never waved his hand or pointed his finger for the purpose of "slaying" his followers.

Scripture does not indicate that believers fell backwards in the presence of God/Christ either. Believers fell to their knees in awe (Ezekiel 1:28; 2:1; Daniel 10:4-11). And they weren't left there for hours either, paralyzed and unable to move. They were usually told to get up on their feet. It is only God's enemies who fall backwards. (John 18:4-6)

The same thing happens when one is under domonic or occult influence. See Mike Oppenheimer's article Slain in the Spirit for more information.

We had 3 Methodist ladies come to see what we were doing and we asked if they needed prayer and they said yes we do, so we took them to the Silver room one by one and when they entered the room they, in amazement, said what is this, we have goose bumps all over.

Goose bumps can be materialized in the presence of demons also.

We could hardly touch them when the anointing laid them out on the floor and when they stood up, we had to seat them because they were so filled with the Spirit they could not stand.

See above why then couldn't stand up.

Then they asked how do you get this baptism of the Holy Spirit and were wonderfully filled as God gave them a new tongue.

EVERY believer is baptised by the Holy Spirit at the moment they believe. We do not have to ask to receive it:

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were MARKED WITH A SEAL, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit GUARANTEEING our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of His Glory." Ephesians 1:13-14

Not everyone gets the GIFT of tongues (1 Corinthians 12:30). According to Paul's instructions on the use of Tongues they were to be a sign for unbelievers, not believers (1 Corinthinas 14:22). So where are the massive crowds of unbelievers who are coming to Christ because of the exhibition of Tongues?

All we see exhibited in most of these Apostolic "tongue factories" is a lot of confusion with everyone speaking in tongues at the same time, and a lack of interpretation. God is not the author of confusion where it concerns the tongues (1 Corinthians 14:32, 33). No wonder Paul had to devote a whole chapter to the gift of tongues in 1 Corinthians.

I asked the Lord why the anointing was so strong in the Silver room and He said that He put an Angel there and the Angel has been waiting 74 years for the Healing Rooms to re-open.

So, this angel has been waiting 74 years for John G. Lake's Healing Rooms to re-open, which has been shown above to not be of God. So whose angel is this?

I and the ministry team were invited to Post Falls Idaho last Saturday to share, in a church, the vision God has moved us into with the Healing Rooms Ministry. The same presence and power of God that is in the Healing rooms was manifested at that meeting and the team ministered wonderfully.

God has told us, if you want the anointing to increase you must give it away. We want to make a deposit of this awesome anointing for healing everywhere we can. We want to become absolutely contagious with what God has given us. We are so hungry, we cannot get enough.

Here is a video exposing John G. Lake's healings as fraud:

We have seen above how John G. Lake cannot be a godly teacher, and therefore neither can anything that is founded on his teachings. Therefore this Healing Rooms Ministry is based on error and the "anointing" they are "giving away" cannot be of God either.
